When you walk into a Kohl’s store, connecting to WiFi might not be your first instinct. But before you start browsing, consider using the store’s internet connection, Elisa Bender, Co-founder of RevenueGeekssuggests.

“Have you ever heard of getting paid for using the internet? Well, use Kohl’s free Wi-Fi and get coupons,” says Bender. “This is a secret they don’t want customers to know, but it’s out now.”

If that’s not reason enough, you can save some of that precious phone data, especially if you’re part of a family plan together.

If you’re an avid shopper, chances are your email inbox is flooded with coupons and sales from various retailers. But when you shop at Kohl’s in-store, the staff aren’t as quick to advertise an offer as Blake Brosmana former Kohl’s employee best life.

According to Brossman, who is now the owner and CEO of PetCareRXthat’s “a dirty secret Kohl’s never told you.”

“While Kohl’s has coupons and promo codes, our managers instruct their employees to let customers know we don’t have any,” says Brossman. “Well, if customers find out for themselves, that’s fine. However, they would rather we not tell them.”

Kohl’s Cash is a great way to save money, but if you have any coupons that have expired don’t throw them away just yet.

“I once checked a Kohl’s store near me and found it had expired based on the date printed on my Kohl’s Cash.” Stephen Frankel, Clothing deal finder at Dealperx, explained. “The cashier explained to me that Kohl’s Cash actually has a 10-day grace period after it expires, and they accepted it!”

However, acc Julia Ramhold, a Consumer Analyst at DealNews, the grace period may be slightly shorter.

“According to some, if your Kohl’s Cash is green, you should be able to use it within 7-10 days of expiration (I’ve seen both reports recently),” Ramhold said Preferably life. “However, not all employees may be aware of this – and it is possible for the policy to change without warning.”

Ramhold recommends calling the company to place your order and see if they’re redeeming your expired Kohl’s cash.

Kohl’s recently announced plans to open Sephora stores in all 1,165 Kohl’s stores across the country — and there are currently 600 stores open now. But if you’ve been saving and hoping to use your Kohl’s cash on a makeup haul, you’re out of luck.

According to Kohl’s website, these coupons do not apply to Sephora on Kohl’s purchases. Ramhold stresses the need to “read the fine print,” adding that toys are generally excluded alongside beauty products.

“Before you start planning your in-store or online shopping trip, make sure you write down which categories you want to shop for and any exceptions that might apply, so you avoid disappointment (and sticker shock) during the checkout process,” she says.

Use the phone to scan the barcode

If you see something online for a lower price than in-store, don’t be afraid to ask for a match, says Ramhold.

“Just be prepared to show the product live online on your phone [as opposed to an image you previously took via screenshot] and be prepared for any restrictions they might try to impose on it — for example, you should buy the exact same model number in the same color or the same item in the same size and color,” she says.

Kohl’s may be reluctant to honor the price when there are differences between products, Ramhold says, which is why you want to line up your ducks at the checkout.

Bender recommends opening the Kohl’s app when shopping in the store, since the barcode scanner allows price queries.

If you need to place an order online, you can skip the shipping cost by having the order shipped to your local store.

“Sure, the minimum for free shipping is $49, which in many cases is probably not difficult to achieve, but if you live close enough to a store where pickup is convenient, why not take advantage of that?” This is particularly advantageous if you only order a few small things, says Ramhold.

“If you’re concerned about your budget, just avoid impulse purchases when you walk in,” she adds. “That’s definitely Kohl’s goal, but you don’t have to give in to temptation!”
